The Sixth Album by Rock Band Little Villains: Simpler Times
"Little Villains carry the spirit of the underground wherever they go. They don’t waste their time arsing about with massive production and huge arrangements. The band put their foot to floor with a punk as fuck, middle finger in the air attitude. This quality makes Little Villains so appealing, so real. If you want an album that sounds exactly like the band are playing in your living room, then this is right up your street."

PRESS RELEASE:
Do you remember when the internet didn’t exist? When all you could do on a mobile phone was make a phone call or send a text? When nothing beeped every time you ignored a website or app for more than 30 seconds? When mullets were cool? When times were simpler? Little Villains remember. And they want to take you back there to have some fun.
SIMPLER TIMES – LITTLE VILLAINS’ sixth studio album, released on SPIRA RECORDS – does what it says on the tin. Recorded live, with no click tracks, no samples and no bullshit, it takes you back to a time when things were simpler. With songs like ‘Cupboardy’, about playing Scrabble with your nan, and ‘Three Part Yell’, about buying scratch cards, and ‘Steve’, about a bloke called Steve Wilkos, and ‘Rad Saturday’, about having fun on the weekend, the songs will put a smile on your face.
The album features James Childs on vocals / bass, Owen Childs on guitar / vocals and Chris Fielden on drums / vocals. The band play loud, hard and heavy.
“The band features a heavy and hard rock ‘n’ roll sound, with fast-paced beats and riffs with a Motörhead feel. Little Villains has a classic sound, with an old-school, raw production. If you were or are a fan of Motörhead, I’d totally check Little Villains out.” Metal Temple review by Jared Lacks
SIMPLER TIMES is a fusion of rock, punk and pop, resulting in an up-beat sound. The band members figured there is enough doom and gloom in the world at the moment, so they focussed on fun with this record. LITTLE VILLAINS are touring in April 2025 in the UK and Europe to celebrate unleashing SIMPLER TIMES on your ears.
“Little Villains carry the spirit of the underground wherever they go. They don’t waste their time arsing about with massive production and huge arrangements. The band put their foot to floor with a punk as fuck, middle finger in the air attitude. This quality makes Little Villains so appealing, so real. They don’t hide behind anything, they get out there and do it with a sound not too far removed from Hawkwind in the late 70’s. If you want an album that sounds exactly like the band are playing in your living room, just for you, then this is right up your street.” Adam McCann, Metal Digest
SIMPLER TIMES was recorded at the Stujo in Los Angeles, California, USA, and comprises 10 songs. Villainous videos are being released via the band’s YouTube channel, website and social media pages.
LITTLE VILLAIN’S first two albums, PHILTHY LIES (Heavy Psyche Sounds Records) and TAYLOR MADE (Cleopatra Records), featured the late, great Phil ‘Philthy Animal’ Taylor from the classic MOTÖRHEAD line-up. The band continue to rock in memory of their friend.

Reviews
"SIMPLER TIMES is a nostalgic trip back to an era before digital distractions – when life was all about real connections, loud guitars, and good times. Recorded live, without click tracks, samples, or excessive production, the album captures the untamed essence of LITTLE VILLAINS’ sound. Fans can expect thunderous riffs, electrifying solos, and infectious energy across the album’s 11 tracks. Standout songs include 'Cupboardy', a playful anthem about Scrabble battles with your nan; 'Three Part Yell', an ode to the thrill of scratch cards; 'Steve', a track dedicated to the legendary Steve Wilkos; and 'Rad Saturday', a celebration of weekend revelry. With themes that resonate and a sound that harks back to rock’s golden age, SIMPLER TIMES is set to be an instant classic." Zach Moonshine, Metal Devastation Radio
“LITTLE VILLAINS have released their 6th album. ‘Rad Saturday’ reminds me of The JAM, and sounds like a power pop anthem. ‘Steve’ sounds more like an old punk rock song. And ‘Love Lane’ sounds like a slower power pop song. These songs all sounds like something from Great Britian in the late 70s. It’s a nostalgic trip back to a time when things were a little easier. Really good stuff.” Jimmy Blom, Hard Rock Info
“Little Villains stoke the fire of nostalgia with ‘Rad Saturday’, a hook-driven anthem from their latest album, Simpler Times. With melodies infectious enough to lodge themselves into memory long after the first listen, Little Villains prove their rhythmic chemistry effortlessly surpasses the sum of their individual parts. ‘Rad Saturday’ encapsulates the very spirit of what makes Little Villains essential listening: honest musicianship matched by an irrepressible attitude. With this track, they’ve ignited a sonic pyromania that deserves maximum volume.” A&R Factory review, by Amelia Vandergast
